  • Pending Passage of Legislation, Nevada-Based Company, Switch, Will Choose Michigan As Site For New 2 million SF Data Center Campus
    11/16/2015 | LAS VEGAS - November 16, 2015 – After substantial consideration in the search for its eastern U.S. data center campus, Switch has announced that upon the passage of three-data center bills currently in the Michigan Legislature, Michigan will be home to the company’s new 2 million square-foot, five-billion dollar SUPERNAP data center campus. The total capital investment reflects the costs for both the data centers and the computer servers that will be placed inside the buildings over a multi-year period.  SUPERNAP Michigan will be the largest data center campus in the eastern U.S. and will serve the company’s current clients in geographic redundancy and new clients with national connectivity.

    10/27/2015 | Today, the Montcalm Economic Alliance and The Right Place, Inc., along with its state and local partners, announced the approval of a $415,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), for the Village of Sheridan, Montcalm County, Michigan. The approved CDBG grant will fund the demolition and remediation of the former Carnation factory located in the village.

To support the expansion, the company will receive nearly $2.4 million in state and local development support.  Cargill Kitchen Solutions’ Bonanza Road complex intends to add 28 new positions in the next two years as well as expand its cooler and freezer storage space by nearly 22,500 square feet.

The grant will allow the contract electronic component manufacturer to add 110 new jobs to its 35,000 SF facility at 1655 Michigan Street in Grand Rapids.

    7/31/2013 | Today, The Right Place, Inc., in collaboration with The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), and Cascade Township announced that Paris-based Teleperformance, Inc. has reached an agreement with all parties and will establish a new customer support center in West Michigan. With support from the Michigan Business Development Program through a $600,000 performance-based grant, Teleperformance will invest a total of $3.79 million, creating 500 local jobs in the region.

With support from Cascade Township, Precision Aerospace will invest a total of $5 million, creating 40 new local jobs at the company’s new facility over the next two years. To support the investment and job creation, Cascade Township has approved a local P.A. 198 tax abatement for Precision Aerospace.

  • Ionia County Economic Alliance supports growth of Herbruck's Poultry Ranch
    2/27/2013 | (SARANAC, MI) – The Ionia County Economic Alliance, in partnership with The Right Place, Inc. and with the support of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, announced today the approval of a $500,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant for Herbruck's Poultry Ranch in Saranac. The funds will be used to assist the locally-owned egg producer with a $17.5 million expansion at three of its facilities, two in Saranac and one in Orange Township.  It’s expected that 50 new jobs will be created over the next three years.
